patty's predicament

picture this: a girl transplants her "old kentucky home" into hell's kitchen in new york city. she forms a band - an eclectically flavored trio that is uniquely her. a sound she calls "garage soul". that girl is patty murray. while her guitar style lives somewhere between james brown and ac/dc...the songwriting is unabashedly pop. you can just tell patty grew up listening to her mother's am/fm radio. although it wasn't a boom-box, shirley's window-sill radio blasted everything from country legends to irresistible pop and one-hit wonders. it's easy to see why her music is so infectious.
